Due to its excellent wear resistance, this type has warmed up and due to its toughness, it is used for highly thermally stressed tools, which are subjected to high mechanical, temperature and abrasive demands at the same time. Such tools are, for example, forging dies for hammers and presses, forging saddles, aluminum die-casting molds, plastic injection molds, or scissor blades for hot work. Subsequent processing is carried out with carbide tools. This weld material can be refined, nitrided, chrome-plated, CVD-coated, polished and machined.
Mechanical properties
- Material: 3-GZ-45-T special alloy (according to DIN standard)
- Hardness of pure weld material: 42-46 HRc
- Soft annealed at 780 oC approx. 230 HB
- Hardened at 1030oC / in oil 48 HRc
- Tempered at 600 oC 45 HRc
- Recommended for materials: 1.2343, 1.2344, 1.2082, 1.2083, 1.2367 to 1.2606
