Unhardened, well hardenable spring steel material no .: 1.1248 With a carbon content of 0.75%, material 1.1248 is a commonly used alloy for springs. In the unsolidified state, this steel can be very well pressed and deformed. Afterward, however, it still has to be hardened in order to achieve high tensile strength and hardness.
